In the 1950s and 1960s, Western Mining Corporation [WMC] expanded into the mining of aluminium, iron and nickel. In 1996, the corporation changed its name to WMC Resources Ltd reflecting the diversity of its enterprises. Western Mining Corporation Ltd [WMC] was taken over by BHP Billiton in 2005. The company began in 1933 with a gold mine in Kalgoorlie, WA expanding internationally as it developed into the mining of copper, nickel, aluminium, iron and uranium, as well as the production of fertilizer. This company continued in resource exploration and mining until it was taken over by BHP Billiton and delisted in 2005.Search records of this agent
