Agent TypeOrganisationActivities & OccupationsFeminist collectivesHistoryThe Lesbian Line collective was founded in 1981 to provide a information, support and referral service for lesbians by lesbians. Situated in successive Women's Liberation Buildings and sharing the phone with the Women's Liberation Switchboard (q.v.), Lesbian Line began by operating for four hours a week with rostered volunteers. Many hundreds of calls were received every year. Funds were raised from donations and fundraisers. With the establishment of the Gay and Lesbian Switchboard in 1991, there was less demand on Lesbian Line and it disbanded in October 1995. This collection is No.105 of the Victorian Women's Liberation and Lesbian Feminist Archive
