Its early operations involved a wide range of general provisions, including ventures in liquor, meat, grain etc. and the export of wool. Its 20th century operations included shipping phosphate from the Pacific Islands to Melbourne and Adelaide fertilizer manufacturers, and plying trade routes between Japan, Mauritius and South Africa. In 1973 it was taken over by Oce-Australia Ltd.
