A Preston tannery was run in partnership until 1919, subsequently A.M. Zwar ran the Beechworth company and G.P. Zwar worked at Preston. Descendant investment companies are still operated in Beechworth by Mr. J.J. Macaulay, while the tanning organisation was purchased in 1957 by Associated Leathers Ltd.
