The records include correspondence relating to a Japanese Youth Goodwill Mission (1973), the Public Relations Programme for 1976, newsletters, replies to enquiries, draft discussion papers on issues such as a national family policy, newspaper clippings, second draft of YCV constitution, minutes of various sub-committees, conference proceedings (such as Youth 2006), details of YCV Summer Programme for children, youth and families (1972/3) and a submission for the Child Care Act 1972. The records’ original order is loosely alphabetical by subject heading. White orange, cream, blue, green, pink and red tags were used on file pockets, apparently more for contrast (and hence ease of filing) than for any systematic colour coding system. It should be noted that some files were also given numeric identification such as A.1 and D.4.16. The series was transferred from the RMIT Social Policy Archive where it had been transferred in the 1990s as part of a collection strategy to capture the records of community sector organisations operating in the welfare sector. Within the SPA, these records were identified as series 14. It was the practice of the SPA to item number material in order of its receipt irrespective of the series it was later allocated; these item numbers and generally their order have been retained. There were two anomalies in the SPA item numbering with item numbers 95 and 96 and 280 and 281 used alternately for two items.
