IdentifierUMA-SRE-20000127Extenttwo volumes)Linear Meterage0.13Scope and ContentThe Central Building Planning Committee was established in May 1972 after a proposal was received from the Professorial Board Building Planning Committee by the Policy Committee of the Professorial Board recommending the establishment of a Central Building Planning Committee. It was proposed that this committee be established in time to commence planning for the 1976/78 Triennium funding submission. The first meeting of the committee was held on the30th of August 1972. According to its constitution, it was to make recommendations to Council on all planning issues related to the University's buildings and to the general physical environment. It could establish working groups on individual capital projects and capital submissions to the Australian Universities Commission. It was to report to Council on all matters and was to send its reports to the Professorial Board for comment. Under the resolution of Council, on the 5th of December 1983, it was agreed that the Building Committee would be considered a joint committee of Council and the Academic Board and that "The Council adopted a recommendation and agreed to the discontinuation of the Central Building Planning Committee."
