P-E Consulting Group (Australia) Pty Ltd was instructed to proceed with the assignment which commenced on June 23rd 1969. The principle objectives of the assignment were: 1. To make recommendations on the future role of the Dean of the Faculty of Science 2. To examine the existing organisation structure of the Faculty Office, including both the sub-Deanery and the Faculty Secretary's Office, and to recommend the most suitable redistribution of duties between the members of the Faculty Office staff 3. To examine current procedures and clerical methods used at the Faculty Office and recommend improvements 4. To carry out a study of attitudes toward the Faculty Office amongst students enrolled in Science courses Consultants held interviews with University staff as well as staff at other universities, the findings of which formed the basis of two discussion papers leading to the final report. The contents of the series comprise: -Minutes of a meeting of the Committee of the Faculty of Science Office Organisation -Two discussion papers on the project -A final full report of the assignment -A final abridged report of the assignment.
