In addition to the primary committee, the series documents the activities of the sub-committee for retrospective applications. The deliberations of the Standing Committee include; Selection procedures for masters and honours degrees, evaluation of applications to study the M.Sc., reulations for higherdegrees, applications for extended eadlines for submission of written work, principles of selection, and the relationship with graduates in History and Philosopy of Science. The minutes and papers for 1976 are bound with those for the Faculty of Science Committee for Marine Sciences. Although the minutes continue through to 1980, those for 1979 are currently missing.
