The Staff and Establishments Committee (later Committee on Staff) was concerned with matters of promotion; staff appointments; reclassification of positions; proposals for candidates for senior positions and salaries. It appears that the Sub-committee on Promotions/ Promotions Sub-committee absorbed the functions of other ad hoc committees of the Staff and Establishments Committee and was a more general advisory committee to the Staff and Establishments Committee ranging over all departments and all academic staff levels. Summary of Contents Minutes regarding recommendation of promotion for some applicants, referees' recommendations, special salary increments, salaries and loading and general fund costs.
