IdentifierUMA-SR-000000013Extentnot specifiedScope and ContentThis Series contains photographic records about the ANZAC walking stick. The ANZAC walking stick has inscribed on it the names of Wallaby Club presidents. By Club tradition, the walking stick is handed over at the Annual Dinner each year to the incoming president of the Club. The Club has owned the walking stick since 1916, when Club member J. G. Legge cut a branch off a buckthorn tree at Gallipoli. The branch was subsequently fashioned into the current walking stick.
The original photographic records contained in this Series have been rehoused separately in the course of processing the Collection. A copy of each rehoused image has been retained in the file from which it was removed, along with the control code necessary to request the original record, and other information. Researchers interested in these records may wish to begin by consulting the explanatory note in Series 19.
Series 11 includes electronic records stored on a compact disc. These records were created and used in digital format by the Club. Brief descriptions of the content of these digital records are included in the relevant file descriptions below.
