The cards changed in format over the years and there are three sequences, as itemised below: Sequence 1: These cards relate to employees with the surnames A-Z during the fund's operation from 1952-1962. The top section of each card provides detailed summary information regarding the employee, including name, date of birth, date of admission to fund, salary (charging) level, office (job title), department and date of joining university as full-time officer. The bottom section of the card includes information on the employee's contribution to the fund along with total amounts; Sequence 2: The front of these cards contains detailed summary information regarding the employee, including name, department, date of retirement, title (Mr / Mrs / Prof. etc), date of birth, date of admission to fund, year, salary and contribution. The back of the card includes details on year, salary, % member contribution, % university contribution and remarks. The cards appear to relate to employees who resigned in the 1970s. Sequence 3: There is no discernible order to these boxes, but they have been listed so as to incorporate as much detail and contextual information as possible. In terms of the value of the cards, they hold a primary value in that at the time they were generated, they documented payments made into provident funds on behalf of employees. However, their secondary value lies in the detailed summary information they provide regarding a relevant employee, and hence, the associated value they hold to researchers.
