IdentifierUMA-SRE-20060104Extent15 volumesLinear Meterage0.57Scope and ContentThe Agricultural Colleges Act of 1884 provided for the reservation of 150000 acres, under the control of trustees, as an endowment for agricultural colleges and experimental farms. It established a council of eleven members, comprising three trustees, the Secretary of Agriculture and five representatives of agricultural societies, along with two members appointed by the governor. The first meeting was held in 1885 and was chaired by J. Levien. The minutes include references to the management of buildings, lands and accounts; innovations in agriculture and farming; management of students; management of donations and endowments; certification of students; use of specialists inteaching and research innovation.
