Sequences 3-6 appear to have been reordered or created after Kiddle's death in 1958 as her work was being edited for publication. Sequence 1: Original handwritten manuscript written by Margaret Kiddle, most on University of Melbourne note pads, arranged by chapter, page numbered with separate notes sections. Manuscript is extensively corrected and annotated by MK. Sequence 2: Typed manuscript also arranged by chapter (multiple copies of some), appears corrected and annotated by MK and by others, including John La Nauze, Geoffrey Serle, Noel Butlin, CMH (Manning) Clark. Sequence 3: Working copies, typescript arranged by chapter (incomplete) with corrections, annotations and comments by MK, historians, anthropologists and others, including Bill Stammer, John La Nauze, Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Alan Ritchie, Niel Black. Drafts appear to have been sorted after MK's death, presumably while preparing her work for its posthumous publication, and original typescript and working copies are somewhat intermingled. Sequence 4: Third revised copy, labelled R(3), carbon typescript mss arranged by chapters, some lightly annotated. Sequence 5: Galley proofs.
