A public meeting was held in the Assembly Hall and a reception at the John Curtin Hotel. Dr. Joe Camilleri (lecturer in politics, LaTrobe University, now professor, 1994), Terry Lane (ABC) and Dave Davies ("Tribune" reporter) conducted the meeting.
