Germaine Greer was enrolled in a Master of Arts at Sydney University between March 1960 and December 1962. She was awarded an MA (first class honours) in 1963. Her thesis was 'The Development of Bryon's Satiric Mode'. Greer was a senior tutor in English at the University of Sydney from April 1963 until September 1964. She taught mainly second year Bachelor of Arts students and honours classes and lectured on Macbeth, The Three Sisters, transitional poetry of the eighteenth century and Byron.
