Three spiral bound appointment diaries (Heffer's Diary) from 1964-1965, 1965-1966 and 1966-167. The 1964 one documents Greer's first year at Cambridge University and a trip to Italy August-September 1965. Entries note classes with Muriel Bradbrook (the first female professor in the faculty of English, and an authority on Shakespeare) and Raymond Williams, mentions of the poet Jeremy (J.H.) Prynne, lunches, tea and dinner with friends including Clive James and dramatist Simon Gray, jazz evenings, smokers, poker, parties, evensong at Kings, auditions and rehearsals. Greer purchases Elizabeth David’s French Country Cooking. One day she writes ‘Shoot myself’, followed by ‘Not yet, please’. The 1965-1966 diary records the return from Italy (September 1965), contains a list of clothes (bell-bottom trousers, feather bra, black pony-skin boots) and notes dinners, seminars with Muriel Bradbrook, supervision meetings with Ann Righter, Footlights rehearsals and auditions and performances (Smokers), parties, dinners and drinks ("wine tasting at Selwyn. Bad Australian wines), a trip to Paris (March 1966) , the arrival of a letter from Emilio (Venetian boyfriend), appointments with doctors and hairdressers. The 1966-1997 diary continues to document Greer's life at Cambridge, including dinners with Clive James, trips to the theatre (Uncle Vanya, The Tempest), Emilio's visit, meetings with Dr Righter, One day Greer notes she must 'make a dress for cabaret'. On 9 January 1967 she writes 'application to Warwick', two weeks later she is in London at the BBC TV Centre. There is an entry for 'OZ film', another for a Footlights party and notes to 'Beware Depression'. Greer leaves for Venice (18 March) , visits Paris and returns to London on 9 April.
