IdentifierUMA-SR-000001918Extent4 volumesLinear Meterage0.4Scope and ContentOn the 26th of October 1966, the Faculty of Arts Standing Committee received from the Arts Planning Study Group an interim report in which a proposal was made to establish a Dean's Committee. The Committee would have the power to co-opt further members, including faculty members outside the Standing Committee of Heads of Departments for the consideration of specific questions. Further reference to this committee can be found in the minutes of the Faculty Assembly at a meeting dated 7th of December 1966. The Dean's Committee is here referred to as a "planning" committee responsible for planning and as a watching brief on policy questions affecting the faculty in addition to advising and assisting the Dean. It does not appear to have been dissolved. Minutes are bound with Faculty of Arts Minute Books except where bound separately in five cloth bound volumes and one loose-leaf binder (1967-1978). Entries are typed on unlined paper. Minutes from 1967-1969 are bound with the Faculty of Arts Faculty Assembly minutes (UM488) Post-1978 minutes are bound alongside the minutes of the Faculty of Arts.
