Enrolling for a Bachelor of Commerce, he did a single subject Natural Philosophy in 1934. Transferring to a Bachelor of Agricultural Science in 1935 he completed the four-year degree course in 1938, graduating Bachelor of Agricultural Science on 1 April 1939. He passed Pure Maths I as a single subject in Bachelor of Science in 1939 and Theory of Statistics as a single subject in Arts in 1940.
After graduation, Croll worked with Archibald James Vasey, Secretary of the Division of Animal Health & Production, C.S.I.R.O., and in Mathematical Statistics, for the Department of Agriculture.
In 1942 he was placed with the Department of Labour and National Service. He worked with Dr. Charles Badham, Director of the Industrial Health Division of the New South Wales Department of Health on tetryl dermatitis and atmospheric conditions in textile mills. Most of his papers relate to work in the World War II period, concentrating on conditions of work, scientific, statistical and general, towards the war effort.
Post War he transferred to Drug Houses of Australia at the behest of Russell Grimwade, becoming director of research in 1952. Appointment as Assistant General Manager, Eagley Mills, followed.Search records of this agent
