The first float bears "888" symbols,& a representation of the globe. A young girl sitting above the figure 8 is believed to be an ancestor of the Bransgrove family. The second float carries the banner of the Coal Miners' Union. The second photograph is of an infant, in Victorian baby clothes, who is believed to be the child sitting on the trade union float in the Federation March. The accession includes copies of Herald-Sun and Age articles from 8 and 9 May 2001 about the 1901 Federation arches.
