The early pieces of correspondence in this series deals with National Mutual Life Association agencies with Dalgety and New Zealand Loan Limited in general. However in 1962 Commercial Union Insurance Company of Australia Limited decided to move into life insurance. Much of the correspondence on fie deals with his decision and the effect on the Association. The outcome was that as Commercial Union had extensive general business with D & NZL they (CU) would also handle the life assurance business through Dominion Life Office (owned by CU). This of course led to the closing of the Association's Agencies with Dalgety and New Zealand Loan Ltd from 1 June 1962 in New Zealand and from 1 January 1963 in Australia.
