Each bundle will therefore contain tracings from a variety of University buildings identified by their building number. Buildings within the University are numbered from 101 on.
In the system of arrangement of drawings within Property and Campus Services, each drawing is assigned an alphanumeric control number made up of the following elements: Discipline, building number, year of creation, and sequence within the set of drawings. Disciplines are: A for architectural; S for structural; M for mechanical; H for hydraulic; E for electrical. The control number A101.5505 therefore indicates an architectural drawing for building number 101 Beaurepaire Centre, from 1955, the 5th in the sequence. All drawings in this series are arranged by the year element. This series contains a mixture of A, S, M, E, H, other disciplines and Grounds plans.
It is not clear whether this is a long-standing system of arrangement of University drawings, or whether it represents a system which was imposed upon all physical drawings when they were scanned and described into the Property and Campus Services database, Meridian, in the late 1990s. Drawings are also labeled with either a red dot denoting that they are described on the database and have a scanned image; or a blue dot denoting that they are described on the database but not scanned.
Some bundles initially within this series have been relocated into University Building Drawings by Building Number (2012.0269). Consequently, the bundles within this series start at 2012.0270 Unit 11. This series is listed and retrieved by date and bundle number.
